5 things that bring me joy this week
You can check out the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here. It's a collection of seemingly insignificant things that remind us to appreciate the little things—those small joys that make a difference in our daily lives.
“Is this how you want to spend whatever time we may have left?” asked my husband as I was having a nervous breakdown over the state of… everything. So I am asking you the same question… Are you going to spend this time screaming into the void, terrified, and feeling powerless? Or find ways to help others and yourself? Food for thought… for all of us…
Existential crisis aside, here’s what’s bringing me joy this week:
exploring in nature. Other than attending an orchestra concert or going to the theatre, this is our favorite way of spending our weekends. With beautiful weather and plenty of creatures to keep us entertained, we had a lovely and calm weekend outdoors. Looking forward to doing the same this upcoming weekend!
a rainy day. The weather commiserated with us for an entire day on Monday and I loved it. It felt… soothing.
perfect weather. After the rain, came the sunshine and perfect temperatures. It’s tough being indoors these days, I’ll tell you that… This weather just brings joy.
the best vegan brownies ever! The rain on Monday got me in a baking mood, a very specific mood, actually — to bake brownies. I barely ever bake brownies! I quickly searched for an easy vegan recipe and came across this one and decided to go with it. I did modify it though — I used less sugar, switched the 1/2 cup water with coconut cream, used a lot less oil, removed the chocolate chips (I didn’t have any), and added frozen cherries instead. The result — a totally yummy goodness we “inhaled” in two days! Yup, these brought a good dose of joy, haha.
this beautiful spring dress. Need I say more?
What’s bringing YOU joy this week?
