5 things that bring me joy this week

this woven leather basket bag that I need to take out asap!

Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that remind us to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.

I don’t know about you, but I like reading series of this kind. After all, I strongly believe that the best life happens in the little moments. Or, the little moments make the best life, if you will. Which is the point of this series I started, ha, I lost track of how long ago.

As you can imagine, I have felt a little uninspired lately. Between being sick and having to stay home, daily life’s unpleasant surprises, some family issues, and a general state of “crazy” in our country, I’ve felt anything but uplifted. But no matter how we feel, life doesn’t stop, and we must show up. In the best way we can.

I have been somewhat displeased with neglecting the blog lately, but I’m also trying to be gentle with myself and take a break when I know I need it. Sure, some may see it as a luxury, but self-care is simply not that. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Here are 5 random things that bring me joy this week:

  • fresh flowers. Don’t underestimate the power of little “luxuries”. I urge you to find something that uplifts you and invite it into your life as often as possible. Even if that includes fresh flowers, enjoying a cup of coffee somewhere, a decadent meal here and there, or a new dress — find your “something” that brings you joy and hang on to it. It’s so needed these days!

  • calming tea. Chamomile tea and this Tulsi and rose herbal tea are our go-to teas in the evenings these days. They help us relax and promote better sleep. This little nightly ritual brings joy.

  • looking forward to receiving my new dress. What can I say… I am who I am, and a new dress on its way to me always brings me joy!

  • this woven leather basket bag. Putting together this blog post reminded me of this adorable woven leather basket bag I have and quite honestly, forgot about. I need to get it out asap! Woven leather basket-type bags are in right now, and the fact that this one is so unique just makes me happy!

  • this kombucha (*linking for display purposes — this price for one unit is outrageous)! I’ve mentioned numerous times that we love kombucha (our drink of choice), and while I deeply disliked this one initially, I really enjoy it now. It brings me joy!

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
