5 things that bring me joy this week

from the archives… obviously as I’m wearing jeans…

Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that remind us to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.

I actually intended to take the week off from posting on the blog but changed my mind in the last moment. Though I again am not too happy about skipping last Friday’s post… I have nothing in my defense, other than a not-too-pleasant day, and I needed to shut my brain down. As you can tell, I don’t write blog posts too far in advance — I just jot down ideas, and while I have many, some are time-consuming, and I fall behind…

In other news, it’s been a busy week so far, and I am tired… The weekend can’t come soon enough… But, unpleasantries aside, let’s focus on the things that do bring me joy this week, and those are…

  • carnations. I can’t tell you the joy these flowers bring me. With every bouquet I bring home, I am increasingly falling in love with them. They’re so pretty and remind me of peonies, only they last much longer.

  • early “shut down” to read. We go to bed late because of Enzo, so our evenings are extra long (we’re not massive fans of that, but it is what it is). While some nights get away from me, recently I’ve been making an effort to read at night, rather than be on my phone. It’s been really nice!

  • restocking on this hair treatment while on sale! I’m sure we all know the joy of needing to restock something to find it on sale. As stated in my previous post in this series, I am very happy with it and decided to continue my treatment. Plus, the goods got to me in less than two days with regular shipping (it came from Jacksonville, FL in my case), so talk about extra joy as I had run out!

  • shhhh!!! a really nice sale happening. From August 15th to August 18th, use code BOOTS200 to get $200 off Sarah Flint boots you’ll enjoy for years to come! Yes, it’s dreadfully hot in Florida still, but I hear fall is on its way in other parts of the country? Sarah Flint shoes just bring joy!

  • this dress being on its way to me (fully stocked here at the moment). It caught my attention the moment I saw it, and from a poll I did on Instagram stories, the answers were a resounding “yes” to getting it. So I just did. Note that the waist is high and the belt may not fall at the waist, so please keep that in mind. Also, I’d recommend sizing up if in between sizes or having a larger chest. Other than that, I can’t wait to receive it — the print and colors are gorgeous!

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
