5 things that bring me joy this week
Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that serve as a reminder to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.
I’m clearly playing catch-up around here, but I didn’t want to skip this week’s list of things that bring me joy, especially as we have a few reasons for it. Here they are:
Weathering another hurricane. While it did flood around us, we, personally are minimally impacted, and, of course, that brings me joy. That’s not to say that I’m not feeling it for everyone affected — we learned quickly that everything can change in a matter of minutes here when it comes to it, so I never take it for granted.
Noticing that one of my orchids, a Dendrobium to be specific, is growing a flower spike. These can be delicate, and mine has particularly been through tough times as something was eating its leaves. I brought it inside a while ago to protect it, and while prepping for the hurricane (aka, watering it in case we lose power and need to minimize water use), I noticed the spike. That could not have brought more joy to an orchid lover like me, especially as this is the first time that this species is showing signs of producing blooms under my care.
Enzo finally getting back to being himself after several days of not feeling well. I can’t describe the stress and pain I’ve felt these last few days… there were many tears involved and having him back to his usual naughty self is a huge relief and reason for joy.
this cute little greenhouse that I bought to keep some plants and seedlings safe. Seeing it actually brings me joy.
the long weekend ahead! It’s very much needed after a week of little sleep due to the hurricane and Enzo’s sickness.
What’s bringing YOU joy this week?
