5 things that bring me joy this week

Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that serve as a reminder to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.

How is it that we’re in the middle of September already? It feels like time is speeding up these days and even if temperatures still feel very much like summer, autumn signs are here. And I’m specifically talking about the signs that I deeply dislike: it getting dark sooner, and still being dark in the morning. Natural light helps me wake up, and it’s been especially tough in that department this week as I’ve noticed a big difference when our alarm went off… Oh, the seasonal struggles…

In other news, we’re looking at a longer weekend as we celebrate a big milestone, and I’m pretty excited about it.

Here’s my weekly list of 5 things that bring me joy:

  • BOGO on orchids. Publix is not our favorite place to shop but I have to admit that they do have quite a few great deals once in a while (on things that would interest us, that is). When we stepped in there this week looking for something specific, I immediately saw and couldn’t take my eyes off the BOGO sign and the myriad of orchids in front of me. It took me a while to choose, but I did it, haha. For an orchid lover, this is paradise, right!? They bring me so much joy every time I see them!

  • our view: city on one side, all green on the other. I can’t get over it, especially when we get these stunning sunset clouds and the golden light flooding our place — it brings me joy every evening!

  • this dress. Indulge me for a little longer, please, because I really love it!

  • these pearl hoop earrings. I loved the turquoise so much that I wanted to also get them in a color I could match or coordinate more easily. These are so beautiful, and yes, they bring me joy!

  • catching sunrises. OK, the fact that it’s fairly dark when we wake up is not bringing joy, a sign of the time changing, but catching the sunrises sure does.

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
