A beautiful crochet dress from Target

I shared in this post that I purchased this crochet dress a few days ago, and I decided to dedicate a post to it as there is much interest around it.

I bought this dress online and selected to pick it up in-store, and I’m glad I did because I literally purchased the last one. I don’t normally go for crochet styles but I was smitten with it the moment I saw it. The delicate pattern, the shape and length, and the halter neck stole my heart. Though it is categorized as a maxi dress, I certainly wouldn’t call it that.

I chose the white version of it as it is more versatile in my opinion, but it also comes in blue and black. The black color is not sold in stores, according to the website.

As far as the details, I personally love a halter neck, and this particular one features a back-tie that can be adjusted and tied several ways (a bow, a knot, etc.). The dress itself definitely looks elegant.

While the white online looks more ivory than white, the real color is genuinely white. The dress has a slit on the left side, which, in my case, hits above my knee. Note that the white version is a bit see-through, even though it is fully lined, hence I’d recommend wearing a half-slip like this one or this one underneath.

The fabric is on the heavy side, which would make this dress perfect for spring or summer cooler days and nights. In spite of this, I comfortably wore it out in 90+ degree weather — the slit allows for air to flow easily, and of course, doesn’t restrict movement.

As far as sizing, the dress runs properly, and it can expand, so I wouldn’t recommend sizing up if you’re in between sizes.

To clean it, I ran it in the washer, and drier after, however, I’d recommend air drying it, if possible, as it [temporarily] shrinks and needs to be re-shaped after. For the best look, I recommend steaming or ironing on hot.

What I really love about this dress, is that it can be styled in myriad ways. It can be worn casually with a denim jacket and sneakers, flats, or slides (I also love these), for work with a blazer and the most comfortable pumps (get 15% off your 1st purchase with code SF-EM-15), or as-is with sandals, statement earrings, and a cute bag for other occasions.

I can tell you with certainty that this dress will sell fast — if you like it as much as I do, snag it now!

I chose to wear mine with my very comfortable Sarah Flint Perfect Block Sandal 60 (you can get 15% off your first purchase with code SF-EM-15 by clicking here to have the code automatically added at checkout). I shared in this post more about why I think that Sarah Flint's shoes are a worthy investment.
