A playlist and some Comic-Con thoughts

It's been a while since I shared my playlist here. I used to post those on Fridays but I didn't want to make it just a filler-post so I decided to stick to my once-a-week posting for now.

As you might know, I mostly work on my blog on weekends, usually at night. To keep me going, I usually play some lively music. This past weekend, I needed an extra-boost, after two exhausting days. Years ago, I used to listen to Timbaland so I decided to put on a YouTube mix of Timbaland's music and I went on working.

OK, so I mentioned that last weekend I have been extra-tired and that is because we spent two days at Comic-Con. This event is so much fun but is indeed exhausting - the crowds, the heat, the excitement, it all becomes too much at some point.

Years ago we won tickets to Comic-Con through a contest, so that was our first experience there. We spent the entire day inside, and honestly, it wasn't that great. Don't get me wrong, we got to see some interesting panels - one of them being of one of our favorite show The Blacklist. However, I say it wasn't that great since we were pretty limited in what we could see - we either spend time inside a ballroom all day or run from one to the other.

When it comes to choosing the latter, we were not the only ones, and there were lines. We missed a few panels we wanted to see because of those long lines.

But, if you're at Comic-Con for the geeky stuff, you have to get in - there's just too much going on to miss it! Since we're not really into those things, it wasn't that much fun for us.

The years after, we decided to stay outside the Convention Center and mingle with the crowds. Honestly, that was the best decision. You can always see the panels online (let's be real - unless you're OK with waiting 2 days at least - NOT KIDDING! - in line, or are lucky enough to get VIP passes, you won't see the people you want to see).

So back to our decision of not going inside anymore. The last few years, we ran into several celebrities walking the streets or giving interviews for the morning news - yes - right outside for all to see, including Matt Lanter, Greg Grunberg, The Black Eyed Peas, the cast of The Originals, The 100, just to name a few. We're pretty certain we also saw Elijah Wood walking among the crowds without being recognized. Yes, many celebrities do that and get away with it.

The first year we decided to stay outside the convention, we were walking around (there really is a lot to see and experience outside the Convention) when we stumbled upon the "place" where a lot of the celebrities and TV-show casts go to for interviews. To name them: Mike Tyson, Stan Lee, the cast of The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Riverdale, The Flash, along with most CW shows. We also saw most of the cast of Fear of The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead (Norman Reedus loves to engage with the crowds), Stranger Things, Gotham, The Gifted, Sharknado, The Goldbergs, The Last Man on Earth, American Horror Story (Sarah Paulson was so sweet trying to take photos with everyone), Jaimie Alexander (who is absolutely the nicest celebrity out there, in my opinion), just to name a few.

All in all, I think you should experience Comic-Con at least once. As I said, we're not into comics, however, Comic-Con is not all about that. No matter if you are or not interested in comics, you must be watching some of the TV-shows - Comic-Con is a good way of getting closer to them.

What we like about this event is the fact that it takes us away from our day-to-day reality, at least for a few days. Really, Comic-Con is the kind of craziness and excitement that you should be part of.

Note: I decided not to share the photos I took of the celebrities here (with the exception of one), however, I'll be adding them to my Instagram highlights soon.

Have you ever been to Comic-Con?

Until next time.
