Add a touch of autumn with these home and kitchen items
It’s officially the fall season, though one couldn’t tell by the temperatures in many places, including here in Florida. After a few days of temps dropping below 90, we’re back to above it, and well, here go our autumn dreams… As I’m writing this, my computer tells me the temperature ties the 1997 record-high — yay! I can’t seem to be able to verify it anywhere, and since I have no intention of stepping outside, I’ll believe it... Record or not, it is HOT judging by how frequently our A/C comes on. How’s your city doing?
It may not feel like fall outside, but that can surely be “fixed” in our homes with seasonal decor items, foods, drinks, etc.
I’ve mentioned before that I adore natural textures and materials and incorporate them freely into our home. Wicker, rattan, wood, marble, ceramics, glass, live and/or dried plants, shells, and corals make the style elements in our place, and I have no plans of changing that. I dislike plastic, including most fake plants and flowers (the exception being some of these ones), and avoid them at all costs, even if they are found everywhere, especially this season. In case you’re not a fan of plasticky things either, I’ve assembled a collection of fall decor and kitchen items to use now as well as into the Thanksgiving holiday.
Scroll below for a roundup of fall-perfect home items, and read on for my special picks.
It doesn’t get more autumn-like with these pumpkin ramekin candles — they’re ideal for the kitchen and/or living room, plus, you can reuse the jar once the candle is done.
These taper candle holders and candelabras are divine! Great for now as well as Christmas (and beyond).
The same for these ginkgo candlesticks — they’re so unique!
These autumn leaf taper candles are adorable — they’d look great for the Thanksgiving table or as part of any autumnal decor.
These dried proteas are perfect for bringing fall touches inside. Display them in this gradient glass vase, this metal vase, and/or this terracotta one.
This maple leaf can be used as a serving dish/charcuterie board and/or a simple decorative piece.
This charger can also be used as a decorative piece, either to display candles on, or, why not, as a fruit bowl. A candle display would look amazing on this mercury glass charger as well.
Petrified wood is stunning and this bowl would make a great trinket dish. Or, you can simply display it as a decorative item on your coffee table on top of a book.
These mushroom ceramic plates make for cozy fall dinners and would work for Thanksgiving as well.
These preserved mushrooms are beautiful on their own or as part of a fall arrangement. Display them in this vase or this textured one.
These fresh roses (yes, you read that right) are a gorgeous pop of color to enjoy throughout your home. With fall-like hues, they will instantly brighten up any space.
It may still feel like summer outside, but these pieces would add a subtly elegant touch of autumn to your home, without overdoing it — I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Happy Fall!
