Asymmetrical top & my playlist these days
I have to admit that the cold weather is kicking my butt when it comes to style. You know I prefer to wear dresses; the majority of my dresses are summer-ready or, those cold-weather appropriate being too short for my liking to wear bare-legged.
For that reason, lately I've been reaching out for jeans over and over, and I have to admit I have been feeling a bit uninspired. It's the cold weather, it's the end of another year, that, while it flew by, also seemed too long for us, and it's the impatience for 2019 - I can't be the only one having these feelings.
It's not that I'm not excited about the holidays or I'm not looking forward to them; it's just that my mind has been all over the place lately.
I have been immersed in books - fiction AND personal growth - and I seriously can't stop #bookworm.

Hubby got me into Stephen King's books, and we've been listening to one after another at home. At work, I end up listening to podcasts or "lighter" books, and while I work on the blog, I listen to music. I have been listening to Amy Shark's music and I can't get enough - listen for yourself at the end of this post and let me know if you enjoy it as much as I do.
Back to fashion though. It's been mostly cold here - the kind of cold we're experiencing usually in winter. With the cold and the "no shopping" policy we've set for ourselves, I had to "raid" my closet and get creative. While I've been mostly wearing sweaters on the daily, we have also been blessed with some warm, sunny days for which sweaters weren't a choice. Finding myself staring at my closet, again and again, I remembered I had this asymmetrical top that I, sad to admit, only wore once so far. I tried it on and it suddenly added that "something" I was looking for. I don't know about you, but I find asymmetrical pieces to add elegance to any look.
I have had this top for years but I found several similarly festive ones here, here, here and here that would be perfect for the holidays. I paired it with skinny jeans, gold flats and my gold vintage bag (I also like this, this and this) and Cateye sunglasses for a not-so-casual and yet not over-the-top look. I like the end result.
What do you think my of my outfit and the music I shared here?
Until next time.
XOXO,
Em
