Bring on the bright dresses for spring

As you might have noticed, I’ve fallen off sharing about fashion on here, as well as on my Instagram… I’ve started writing this post when the daily high was barely in the 60s (though we’ve had plenty of days with highs below that), and it made me incredibly longing for warmth, and just indifferent towards fashion.

It’s been cold, we’ve been mostly cooped up at home, and I’ve kind of felt uninspired when it comes to fashion. Like so uninspired that when I “browse” online shops, there aren’t many things — dresses included, that make me go “I want that!”, and it’s not for lack of options, it’s just a feeling of “blah” I’ve been having...

I’ve said it before but I truly dislike cold weather. I don’t like bundling up, and I don’t like the feeling of being cold. Not sure if it’s because I’ve been tired, but the cold’s been making my body ache lately. And that is such an unpleasant feeling!

Needless to say, when we had a warm day among some uncharacteristically cold ones here, I’ve pulled up a beautiful, bright dress to celebrate and twirl around town in. Oh, and what a beautiful dress this is!

In case you don’t recognize it, this white yellow floral embroidered dress is by Alexis for Target. It obviously sold out pretty much immediately, though I got lucky enough to find it in-store, and in my size.

Since, for the longest time, it’s either been too hot or too cold, the dress has been patiently waiting in my closet until the day I wore it.

If you come across it, know that it’s made of cotton, is so comfortable, and even though it’s lined, it is a bit see-through (white dresses often are that way — to prevent that, I wear either a half-slip or slip short underneath).

As far as size, with Target dresses I find myself fitting comfortably in my usual size, as well as one size down. However, since this dress has no give, I’d recommend your usual size.

Apart from this dress, I wanted to share a few other bright spring dresses to help chase some of the winter blues. After all, bright colors really do uplift our spirits. If you need more convincing, why not try this [old] experiment, and see for yourself? Or get some more inspiration.

Scroll down for my finds — I hope you find a dress to cheer you up for spring.
