I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving day, surrounded by laughter, good food, and your loved ones.
Our holiday was peaceful, with me and my hubby (our family lives in a different state so we couldn't join them). We decided to skip the turkey this year (had swordfish instead) and it just made it so much easier.

I still roasted veggies, made mashed sweet potatoes and a berry pie for dessert. I thought we were going to miss the turkey but we didn't. I actually had time to enjoy the day (it was a hot one) without stressing.

As you can already tell, we haven't always lived in SoCal. Both my husband and I grew up in four-seasons kind of places. While we loved each season's beauty, we could never get over the cold, the kind of cold that cuts through your bones. That cold drove us to our decision to move somewhere warmer.
I visited So Cal years ago and loved it, so I convinced hubby we should move. So that's how we ended up in sunny SoCal.

We do miss the seasons but learned to appreciate the more steady-like weather. Well, sort of steady. We had another heat-wave here and while these aren't as appreciated, we certainly love the warm fall and even winter days we get to experience.

We have not expected to wear flat-out summer clothes though at the end of November, not that we're complaining. Because of the milder weather here, I never put my summer wardrobe away, even though I mentally prepare for "sweater weather", and it felt strange wearing a top, summer skirt, and sandals this past weekend.

The outfit I'm wearing here is old, but I found the exact skirt here (new), and tops to go with it here, here and here; similar sandals here and here.

Do you prefer cold or warm weather?

XOXO,
Em
