Floral dress
I've been posting a lot about style, and while, this is something I enjoy, I want to bring you more of the SoCal living - reason to why I added the "a SoCal lifestyle blog" part to the title.
Me and my hubby were born in different places but were drawn here by the nice weather and the thought of having more opportunities for work and fun. I've been thinking to write a post about the pros and cons of living in SoCal, but until then, let's get to this one.
I was a happy child the day we took these photos. We were having a no-plan, low key kind of weekend when we saw on the news that a new park was opening not too far from us and it got me very excited.
Now, so you understand, the city I live in is getting more and more congested - people are always complaining there is not enough living space and mostly, every piece of land is being used for housing - expensive housing that is. So when we heard that the city gave up land for a park, we were ecstatic (does that make us really old?), and we decided to see it in person.
Mind you, the park is not even close to being finished, but it's already looking really good. We walked through luscious green grass, dirt paths and freshly paved trails - all beautiful!
Right by these stairs, a creek is supposed to be flowing, and I can't wait to see it. The stairs led us to a small tunnel and that's where the real fun began. An older couple we ran into told us to clap and sing in there and we suddenly felt like children. I think we should do that more often.
Now, this doesn't mean that I'll ever stop talking about fashion and dressing up - those things will always be part of me, so let's talk about this floral dress.
I found it at T.J. Maxx, for $16.99, in the "new arrival" section, but it didn't have any brand markings or tags so I have no idea who makes it and how to find it.
First, I loved the floral pattern and colors but then I saw the back, and I was completely sold.
I searched the web but it was like looking for the needle in a haystack without more details, so I linked some similar dresses at the end of this post.
And if you can't tell already, my hubby loves to take candids of me - I thought I should share it anyway - life's not perfect so why wouldn't pictures reflect that too?
Obviously, these shoes were not the "smart" choice for the location, but to be honest, I didn't expect to do so much walking. They turned out to be pretty comfortable, and given that it was the first time I wore them, they stood the test.
