Gingham shirtdress

One of our favorite things to do in San Diego is visit Coronado Island, which is, in fact, a peninsula, but who am I to point out the obvious, right?

There are lots of reasons to love this place but we keep going there because it's the perfect place to bike, walk or be lazy on the beach.

Another favorite activity of ours there is admiring the amazing houses and their yards/gardens. We love walking around the neighborhoods while enjoying the quiet streets.

And now that summer has arrived here (meaning, the HOT days are upon us), I'm adjusting my wardrobe accordingly. Gingham has been everywhere this season and it's starting to show up in my closet more.

I have to admit that the first thing that attracted me to this shirtdress was the shape - I love fit-and-flare dresses. The second thing was the midi-length, which has been my go-to length lately (see here, here and here). The third was the fact that it has pockets. The gingham print was the cherry-on-top.

This shirtdress is pretty light which makes it perfect for warm days. For reference, I'm wearing a size 6. My normal size is 4, however, since it was not available, I went with a 6. Even though it’s slightly too big, I think it works just fine - I don’t want to wear tight clothes in the summer heat. I also like the fact that it's lined which adds to the flare and ensures nothing more than intended is shown.

And yes, call me obsessed but these espadrilles and cat-eye sunglasses have been on repeat here. Along with my hat, to which I added a ribbon for a feminine touch; get a similar one here. As for the bag, find it here.

Until next time.
XOXO,
