Here we are...

In Florida! (Of course, I had to make it a poem, I like to have fun!)

You might know from my blog as well as IG, that we have been visiting Upstate New York after returning from Europe, and were looking for our next place to “visit”.

After leaving California, we wanted to experience different places, to find our next possible home: I have said it many times, both I and my husband dislike cold weather and that limits our choices greatly.

I haven’t been to any other places on the East Coast (does flying to/from Boston count? haha), other than NY state, considering that I didn’t have much interest (sorry, I still think the West Coast beats the East Coast in terms of some of the things that matter to me, i.e. food choices). Still, when thinking of places, Florida came to my mind as sparing us from winter the most. So that’s how it started.

A little awkward (it’s been a while), but Hi, it’s me!

It’s been really nice to get to wear summer clothes in December again. We literally left what was a full-on Winterland in Upstate New York (we’re talking piles of snow and an average of 19F degrees ) and arrived in 80F degrees weather in a little over 48 hours.

We haven’t “moved” here, but we are renting a cottage via Homeaway for a while, to get a “feel” of the area.

We haven’t been exploring much, as we’ve been busy (I’ve also been self-teaching photography - I’m not great but I’ve been enjoying the process). So far so good, and we are considering making Florida our next home, but we have more to explore still. So that’s what’s going on here.

I know Christmas is pretty much on everyone’s mind these days, but for the second year in a row, I’m not doing anything special. It’s been nice not to have to stress about it, but also nostalgic, at the same time. Of course, I miss decorating and cooking a feast (a must for me), but all in its due time.

I hope the holidays find you in good spirits - remember to take time for yourself and your loved ones.

I live for views like these… can I have my ocean too, please?

Self-teaching photography by taking photos of squirrels, and yes, this one was falling asleep, haha

Happy Holidays to you!

XOXO,

Em
