January at a glance...

The good news is that January 2025 is now history…

WHAT I/WE DID

It wasn’t a bad month on a personal level, though January came with full force, as expected.

As always, this month felt extremely long and cold. Slow living was the theme, and cultivating peace and calm was the game. All in all, January was about long walks, cozy time at home, and staying warm, haha.

January BLOG POSTS ROUNDUP

Back to normal after a chaotic December. Here’s what I published on the blog this month:

The fisherman aesthetic, modifiedthis one trend I’m looking forward to wearing this year, my way, of course.

Petition for Hill House to bring back the Jacqueline dress. A dream dress styled with a hint of old Hollywood glam. If only they brought it back!

5 things that bring me joy this week.

A classic look for work and play. I actually had fun changing things up a bit, though I admit I did not enjoy the reason behind it, aka, some very cold weather.

Restyling a favorite dress. This dress being brought back in a slightly different style triggered this post — still love how versatile it is!

2025: a look ahead. A list of some of my goals for this year I’m working on.

2025: ins and outs. A trend that started last year is still going strong and I enjoy putting this little list together. Though these aren’t just words thrown around, they’re guidance for this year.

What I bought

January was a cold month here. So cold that it took us by surprise. Hence, purchases were focused on necessities (aka, pants because I realized I had none [that fit]) to keep us warm, and one “want”.

These wide-leg pants that are almost sold out now (TTS) and these high-waisted pants (TTS).

This dress. I couldn’t resist it, silly me!

These (size up) and these (TTS) linen-blend pants for my husband. He loves them both!

MY MOST WORN ITEM(s) IN January

This new dress. I’ve worn it several times already — it’s effortless style at its best.

These pants, of course (almost sold out, run TTS; these are similar).

WHAT I READ

Or more like, still reading…

  • The Pivot Year by Brianna Wiest. “This is the year you change your life. There's a saying that when the moment comes, you don't need words on a page, you need new thoughts in your head. When the moment really comes when you have to find your courage, when you have to let go, when you don't know what to do, you aren't going to go to your bookshelf to find the answer. You need it with you here and now.”

Because self-improvement is an ongoing process.

Simply put, this book is one of the things helping me keep it together these days.

What we watched

With the chaos ensuing this month, we sought comfort and distraction in the following:

The Reluctant Traveler. We loved it! Travel shows tend to lose my interest, but this one has kept us engaged and entertained with every episode.

Bad Sisters. A consistently good show. Season two was better than season one, in our opinion. We’re ready for season three (no, it hasn’t been confirmed yet, sorry)!

A Man on the Inside. We enjoyed this show, even if it felt like it was going nowhere at times.

Outer Banks. Where do I begin with this one? We loved it! It’s one of the best shows we’ve ever watched. While the storyline is slow-progressing, every episode is a “nail-biter”. It’s crazy. If you need a good distraction, I 100% recommend watching this show!

SONG OF THE MONTH

Take from it whatever you need…

WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE ON THE INTERNET

This dress I received a while ago is now available to shop. It’s a total showstopper!

I love this floral dress — it’s perfect for spring!

The new arrivals at Sarah Flint are pulling at my heartstrings. I’m instantly in love with the Stella (in all colors, please!). As a friendly reminder, code SF-EM-15 saves you 15% on your first purchase!

It’s beyond me how this dress is still fully in stock in every color! Consider sizing up, especially if you have a larger chest.

These linen-blend pants and these high-rise denim will be great for spring.

Have you seen this commercial surprise?

A trailer for the final season of YOU has been released, did you see it?

Black History Month 2024: Facts, Theme & Origins. Because we don’t cancel that in this neck of the woods.

Goodbye January 2025. Well, February, bring some love into this world, please.
