Jewelry refresh

I have been into jewelry lately and added quite a few pieces to my collection this year.

In all honesty, I’m not an expert and I don’t really care if my jewelry is fine, demi-fine, or fashionable. I do, however, try to buy it in silver and gold, or gold-plated to ensure it lasts. Tip: To make your jewelry last longer, avoid showering or swimming with it. Gently wipe with a delicate cloth after each wear and ensure it’s dry before storing.

I also prefer real gemstones though I’m not a diamond girl — I’m a pearls girl as I have an utter weakness for them. Trust me — you can never go wrong with pearls. However, I mostly avoid simulated pearls, though sometimes make exceptions depending on the item and style.

I’m not really a dainty jewelry fan — I agree that it’s delicate and it has its own charm but I don’t quite like it, especially in earrings… I like statement pieces, but that is as long as it doesn’t become the [only] focal point. Jewelry pieces that are so big and overwhelming that they take over the entire look and even a person are not that fun to me.

Simply put, I don’t like ostensive jewelry unless it’s done in a tasteful, artistic manner. Here’s an example — this necklace definitely stands out, but it doesn’t do it in a vulgar way, nor is it too overpowering, in my opinion.

I do prefer earrings over anything else — I don’t leave the house without them. This year, however, I have been making an effort to wear necklaces, even if more often than not, I end up wearing a delicate necklace that has a heart with a rose imprinted on it that I inherited from GIL (seen here).

I have these vintage earrings — I’m actually wearing them in this photo. They’re adorable, though, with these particular ones, it looks like the backings aren’t original (and even matching, but they can be easily replaced).

These earrings are perfect for fall and give vintage vibes.

I fell in love with these “pearl” hoop earrings and now they’re on their way to me — I think they’re cute and versatile.

I wasn’t into hoop earrings for the longest time until I fell hard for them (though I 100% avoid large hoops). Since then, I’ve been buying them in various styles. When I stumbled upon these turquoise hoops, I thought they’d be perfect for summer. I liked them so much that I wanted them in a color I could wear with everything, so I got them in the pearl version as well. They’re light, beautiful, and comfortable for all-day wear, and I am obsessed.

I also bought these [inexpensive] hoops for fun and I’ve been loving them. They are a little heavier than the ones above but I haven’t experienced discomfort after wearing them all day (seen in this video and the photos above).

This freshwater pearl beaded necklace and matching bracelet are perfect!

This freshwater pearl knot necklace is very nautical and elegant — I want it!

It doesn’t get more classic and timeless than the simple, yet, charming pearl necklace.

If you want more drama, this pearl and ribbon necklace, as well as this pearl bow necklace (and the matching bracelet), would be perfect to wear for the holidays or special occasions, and they’d even make great gifts.

Are lockets making a comeback? Because I love this one. It would also be the perfect sentimental gift.

Next on my list is a pearl drop pendant for when I want something more subtle.
