May at a glance...

You’ve been good to me, May! Thank you!

WHAT I/WE DID

It feels like August has arrived in Florida because the temperatures have been scorching… That means we’ve been looking for things to do indoors, which based on our interests, feel somewhat limited here. We did however go to the movies (specifically to see this one) revisited museums, and actually spent time at home doing things we’ve been wanting to do but never got around to. I did some DIY-ing, some painting, made a turquoise necklace (and bought even more beads for other ideas I have), organized my closet that was becoming a bit chaotic, celebrated my birthday, and more. It was a good month and I am grateful for what it brought.

MAY BLOG POSTS ROUNDUP

May on the blog was another month focused on my finds because I couldn’t refrain from sharing all the goodness.

5 things that bring me joy this week. I’m having fun curating this list every week.

How to survive the summer heat in style. Because it’s brutal out there! At least in Florida…

An effortless spring and summer look. One of my favorite looks this year — I know I will get a lot of wear out of these items!

White dresses and how to wear them. Like it or not, it’s white dress season and I got you ready for it. 😉

The dress that keeps on giving. I adore this dress… so much so that I got it in another color… are there more in my future? Anyone have a crystal ball?

What caught my eye recently... Too many great finds this season…

Braun IPL permanent hair removal device review. Still, the best money I’ve spent.

Nautical style finds. We all love it! Nothing screams “summer” more than that.

Flowy dresses that stand out. It started with one dress (what else is new…).

WHAT I BOUGHT

Too much… but they are great buys, so I regret nothing. At the top of my head:

This dress in navy and red (TTS);

this top in stripes and cream (TTS);

this skirt (size up);

this top in cream (almost got it in black also, and might still — currently, it’s only $15 after all discounts applied — TTS);

these and these shoes (both are TTS);

these sunglasses in cream brown and in milky navy;

these shell hoop earrings;

these turquoise earrings (FYI: they’re pretty big and I don’t find them to be too heavy, but these aren’t an everyday kind of earrings).

MY MOST WORN ITEM IN MAY

Should I be embarrassed that for the second month in a row, it’s this bag? Oh, and these shoes (they should be restocked). If you need proof that I love these, take a look at this month’s blog posts and peruse my recent Instagram posts.

WHAT WE WATCHED

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. I’ve loved all the movies in this franchise, and this one’s no exception.

The Outlaws. Another show we love and are rewatching in preparation for season 3 coming out today!!! Please do yourself a favor and watch it!

Ghosts. We’re trying not to binge it in one sitting and savor it…

Palm Royale. I was surprised about this, but I loved it! Minus the ending of course... Why???

Mission: Impossible. I had never watched it before (not really a fan of the guy), but my husband insisted on it. I enjoyed it though.

Twister. We saw a preview of the 2024 version and decided to rewatch the original one. Still pretty good.

The Idea of You. Like many other women out there, I had a lot of thoughts while and after watching this… Being a woman is just… something, ha!

WHAT I READ

I finished An Escape to Remember by T.A. Williams. “She needed a getaway. What she found was a home.” Loved it — it’s the perfect summer read that will transport you to Italy!

Currently still reading The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper by Phaedra Patrick. It’s taking me a while to get into it, but this was also the case with this book I loved it in the end, so I’m giving it time.

SONG OF THE MONTH

Literally… as we’re breaking heat records day after day. And the alternative is… this.

WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE ON THE INTERNET

J.Crew’s new arrivals are something… here's what I’m really loving.
