Must-have accessories for the holidays
Whether your holidays look casual or more formal, you can always accessorize for festive and/or glamorous touches.
I am a big collector of accessories; however, my problem is that I forget to wear them most of the time… well, the exception being a pair of earrings, those, I don’t compromise on.
Since I’m more often than not drawn to color, I incorporate it into my looks regularly in various ways. On cold days, if I happen to wear a neutral dress, say a black or beige sweater dress, I sometimes like to add colored tights like these ones (they are rip-resistant) to shake it up. Or, if I keep the outfit neutral, I add a pop of color with a silk scarf. If you like wearing one, a headband would also do the trick.
Here is a list of accessories I think are must-haves for the holidays (and beyond), to help elevate your style (click on the links to shop or scroll down to the widget — please reload the page if the widget does not appear at once):
Earrings. Always and forever in my book. You can have all the fun with earrings by going big (consider these, these, and these as well), or keeping them subtle with these studs or these.
Headbands like this one or this one.
Hair accessories like hair chains, hair clips (consider these bejeweled ones, too), hair bows (also this giant one and this one), hair claws like these, these and these bejeweled ones, etc.
Necklaces. The options are endless. This flower crystal necklace is gorgeous and definitely a conversation starter, and so is this crystal collar. This pearl chain necklace is a modern take on a classic though if you prefer the latter, go for this stunning freshwater pearl choker or the traditional baroque pearl necklace. For a fresh take, try this glass chain necklace or this crystal one for a more understated, yet just as glamorous option, or why not, this Victorian-inspired netted crystal collar necklace.
Beaded collars. I’m happy they’re making a comeback as I’ve had a few for years and I’d like to wear them again.
Bracelets. Definitely a nice touch to an exposed arm. Try a chunky one like this one or a beaded one like this one, this one, and this one.
Rings. Another fun way to accessorize is by wearing a ring; check these for fun options.
Belts. Obviously, we’re not talking about the everyday belts here, but rather about the ones like this rhinestone belt, or this crystal cascade one, this strass buckle one (or this one), as well as this luxurious gunmetal lame waist belt.
Bags. This metallic leather clutch will add a touch of glamour to any occasion, as well as this beaded one. For more options, check here.
Tights. Think festive ones like these sparkly tights or glittery ones like these, these, and these. Also, consider colored tights like these ones.
