My new go-to bag: grandma vibes? I'll take it!
Here’s a secret: I’ve grown tired of throwing away vegan leather bags because they just fall apart too quickly… It might be me — my bags truly take a beating with most times being filled to the point that they almost burst. It’s not totally my fault as I oftentimes end up carrying some of my husband’s personal items, and my small bags can only take so much.
Yes, my preferred bags are usually on the smaller side, because personally, I think they are more practical — imagine how many more things I’d stuff them with if they were larger. Not to mention, I find it easier to hold onto a smaller bag versus a larger one.
Anyway… I’ve been looking for an everyday leather bag to help me carry all the essentials, however, what I found wasn’t necessarily to my liking. I didn’t want just a basic bag, really.
Luck has it that I came across this multicolored basket bag (also available here in red, and here in brown), which instantly won me over — it’s just so fun, and as a lover of baskets, I couldn’t pass it.
Something that I want to mention if you’re contemplating this bag (it would make a great gift!) … It is made of leather in a basket weave pattern and is lined with canvas. Leather is not a light material by default, so the bag is not the lightest (about 3 lbs, I believe), though so far the weight has not been a problem. Something else to keep in mind: if you’re looking for perfectly dyed leather, this may not be it for you.
For me, it’s the perfect size as it comes with a roomy removable pouch with additional interior pockets, a leather coin purse (I use it to store my lip balms and lipsticks), and an adjustable and removable crossbody strap.
Dimensions:
Satchel: 12.5'' W x 9'' H x 5.5'' D
Satchel: 5.5'' handle drop
Pouch: 10'' W x 6'' H x 8'' D
The bag looks very well made and is definitely “sturdy” so I think I’ll get to wear it for a long time. And whether the trend has passed or not (frankly, I couldn’t care less), this bag gives strong coastal grandmother vibes, and I’m ok with that. I stand by my motto of wearing what makes me happy, no matter the trends.
