R.Vivimos A-line flowy long dress

I shared in this post that I recently purchased this super popular dress from Amazon, though I hadn’t had the chance to wear it at the time to share a real opinion about it. I know that a lot of people have concerns over quality and sizing when ordering clothes from Amazon, hence I wanted to write a detailed post about it.

My first thought about this dress is that I LOVE it (so much that I bought it in this color as well - the one I’m wearing in the photos is in “burgundy”)!

Now, about its quality… Have I bought better quality dresses for the same price before? Sure, I absolutely have (for example, this one, which is stunning, by the way), though, don’t get me wrong, the quality of this Amazon dress is not terrible by any means - it’s actually pretty good. You might have to pick up a few loose ends or strands here and there, but not necessarily because the dress is falling apart, or at least, not in my experience.

The fabric is swiss dot-like 100% cotton, and honestly feels like a sheet when worn - it’s soft, light (making it great for warm weather), and incredibly comfortable. Since it’s made of cotton, it requires steaming or ironing, as it wrinkles.

The smocked bodice is pretty solidly made (though, of course, expandable/stretchy), and if you so desire, you could wear the dress without a bra - I choose to wear it with a strapless bra (I shared my favorites here - I find them to be true-to-size). I think a regular bra would show too much due to its square neckline. The sleeves are loose enough to allow for comfortable wear, without pinching.

Is it see-through? The dress is partially lined (covering well below the knees in my case), but it really depends on the color - darker colors are less see-through, if at all, and the lighter ones, depending on the light, can show more than you intend to. I recommend nude underwear for darker colors, to be on the safe side and a half-slip for the lighter ones. Slip shorts are also great options.

Now, as you can see from the photos, this is a truly flowy dress, as, the skirt part has a lot of fabric, so if you don’t like that, this is not the dress for you. A truly feminine dress, it has strong Renaissance and/or cottage-core vibes and can be worn on or off the shoulders. I find it true to size, and on my 5’5”, it hits right at the ankles. If you prefer a shorter version, check out this dress which is made of a blend of linen, cotton, and polyester, and this one for 100% cotton.

As far as cleaning it, I put it in the washer, then dryer for 10 minutes only, and airdried after (the smocked bodice will take a while to dry as it’s thick). I didn’t experience any shrinkage or coming undone.

The only minus for me with this dress is the lack of pockets; other than that I’m in love with it, and happy that I purchased it.

I hope this post has eased your mind if you’ve been considering this dress as well, and if you’re into flowy, voluminous dresses, I recommend it.

Until next time.

xoxo,

Em
