'Tis the season

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, all eyes and thoughts are on Christmas. While I won't be decorating this year like I normally do (I won't be putting up a Christmas tree, read here why), I'm still getting in the holiday spirit through little changes and decorations throughout our home, and, my outfit choices, of course.

It's undeniable that red and glittery things scream Christmas, and I have been incorporating more red in my looks and/or something "sparkly" here and there. The holidays are the perfect excuse to dress up and add a little bit of extra to the typical outfit, without feeling "out-of-place". However, when thinking Christmas outfits, ugly sweaters and PJs are not what I have in mind...

Disclosure: At no cost to you, I might get a commission if you click or make a purchase through the links in this post.

In my true obsession with stripes, I managed to find this red and white striped dress. I got it on sale at Forever21 and every time my hubby sees me in it, he makes fun of me saying I remind him of the Barbershop Quartet... well dear hubby, when I look at this dress, I am reminded of candy canes, aka Christmas...

Sadly, I couldn't find this dress online, but I found several equally nice striped ones here, here, here, here, here, here and here. And yes, I wore this dress to the beach.

Since beach season is almost year-round here in SoCal, we had an impromptu photoshoot while there. It's a known fact that I have the most fun at my happy-place - the beach while playing in the ocean water, and this time has been no exception. While the water was a bit cold, it didn't stop me from getting my feet wet, while running into and away from the waves - no shoes needed.

This holiday season, take time to do the things you love and matter to you; visit the places that bring you joy, be with the people that make you happy, take care of yourself and why not, have fun with your looks.
Wishing you a happy holiday season, dear reader.

What will you be wearing for Christmas this year?

Until next time.

XOXO,
Em
