When you love a dress, get it in every color...

When you love a dress, get it in every color available…

I wanted to title this post “A Dress so Nice I Got it Thrice” to continue the previous two I dedicated to it, but we’ll begin anew. After all, this is a new color, even if the style (and print for the last one) are somewhat the same. It may look like the same dress, but in my eyes, it has a different look and feel as it combines my two top favorite colors — blue and red.

I believe that when you find something you love and it suits you, you should add more of it. In fact, this has been the trend for me this year and it began with this dress, continued with this one, and now this. Certainly, no one can accuse me of not being loyal to what I love, haha.

How to wear it…

I’ve previously talked about having a go-to formula for easy dressing and this dress can be part of it! It’s perfect for just about any occasion, even if it’s a simple lunch with a friend or a museum visit. After going through devastating back-to-back hurricanes, I’m an even stronger supporter of creating our own occasions and wearing what we love. But back to the dress

It has lots of movement and it’s perfectly flowy — just the way I like it! The colors (and the dress itself) are great for any season in Florida and for spring-fall anywhere else. For this time of the year for those of you experiencing real fall weather (you hear that, Florida?), I suggest wearing it with this jacket or this trench coat, and these or these booties to help withstand the weather in style.

In warm weather, allow the dress to shine on its own and play with accessories and shoes. Since the print is busy, I like to keep the accessories to a minimum, yet coordinated with the pattern. A forever fan of pearls, I’d pair it with these earrings or these, or keep it modern with these drop earrings. As far as shoes, the possibilities are [almost] endless as the dress goes just as well with strappy or platform sandals as it goes with classic pumps or ballet flats.

The detachable belt can be replaced with any other to help put together whatever look you’re going for. For example, I like wearing straw/raffia belts in the summer for a seasonal and playful look.

Sizing & fit…

The fabric of this dress is just a bit thicker than the “original” with a bit of stretch. From the several Dalia MacPhee dresses I’ve acquired so far, the fit is true to size. However, generally speaking, if you’re in between sizes, have a larger chest, and/or the fabric doesn’t provide stretch, I recommend going up a size.

Note that this dress is long — I’m 5’5” and in these photos, I’m wearing kitten heels (a local find so I don’t have a link). As you can see, it almost touches the ground, so keep that in mind. I like it as this makes it more dramatic, and we all know I love some drama in my dresses!

When it comes to clothes, it’s not only about how they look but also how they make me feel. And Dalia MacPhee dresses make me feel beautiful and comfortable. Plus they’re made to stand out rather than blend in and what else can one wish for?
