5 things that bring me joy this week
Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here.
The world feels very heavy these days, and inevitably, I’ve been feeling pretty “meh” these last few months. I know I’m not alone, so today, I’m launching a series of weekly blog posts dedicated to sharing a list of 5 things that bring me joy, hoping that it will inspire you to also look for the positives around you. With this series, I am trying to force myself to see the good in a world that feels so… not that right now. This list can be anything really- from the seemingly insignificant things to the ones that make a difference. Let’s dive in…
Beautiful weather. OK, it’s a little warmer than I’d like, but ultimately, it feels pretty nice around here. Yes, summer is here.
Cicada sounds. You know summer is here when you hear the cicadas’ serenades. For whatever reason, I find this sound comforting (though I’m the first to admit that they are loud, and can get annoying). Maybe it’s because the first time I heard them, was when we were in Athens, Greece, a time and place we have incredibly fond memories of. I don’t know, but hearing cicadas brings me joy.
Rainy days. I truly love them. When we lived in California, I loathed rainy days, but here in Florida, the rain just feels comforting and dare I say, romantic? I just love the sound of it, and I can’t wait for this week’s storm (though, I am always and always wishing for a non-damaging one).
Spring fashion. Though that’s somewhat of a year-round thing here, I love seeing the new trends, and the brighter colors come out in full force this time of the year (though, please spare me the neons). After all, colors do bring us joy. Check my ShopLTK, and Shop My Finds page for everything that’s been catching my eye lately.
Trip planning and dreaming/reminiscing of travel. Just the other day, hubby and I have been reminiscing over our extended trip to Europe and affirming that we 100% need to return to Edinburgh. Even though we have pretty much circled the entire city, we only spent there one day, which is not enough. We also have a long list of places we’d like to visit sooner rather than later, though, currently, we have no specific plans.
What’s bringing you joy these days?
Note: my dress is old. If you’re looking for tropical prints, check this dress, this shorter one, or this dress, and this dress.
