Blue & white stripes on white linen maxi skirt
Is there anyone out there able to resist some bougainvillea? This beautiful, bright bush is literally blooming all over SoCal now. Do I need to say more?
What started as a walk with hubby around our neighborhood, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, ended up in an impromptu photoshoot. I don't know about you, but during summer, I love wearing blue and whites, either combined or on their own (like white dresses). Believe it or not, this maxi skirt I'm wearing here is ten years old this year - and it still looks like new.
If you ever find a linen maxi skirt - buy it. Linen is a staple for summer since it doesn't trap heat in and it looks great.
Obviously, since it's an old skirt, I was not able to find the exact one online, however, I was able to find some similar options for you, if you're interested, here and on the good old eBay.
The good thing about having a white maxi skirt is that you can pair it with pretty much any color/print and still create a great, no-fuss outfit.
The top I'm wearing is also old, but blue and white stripes are the must-haves these days and so are easy to find anywhere (in case you like to re-create this outfit with similar pieces).
I would pair such a skirt with this top, or this, tucked in (how adorable is it?).
I prefer more feminine-like outfits year-round, but in spring and summer especially, I am at my happiest in dresses and skirts - to be honest, I don't own shorts and don't really like them either. I know dresses and skirts are not always the most practical, but we all develop a style that is most comfortable and feel best in.
