Casual linen dress

I don't know of where you are, but in SoCal, summer is still going strong - a little too strong, if you ask me. It's been very hot and humid, which is uncharacteristic of the weather here. The only clothes I can wear these days are dresses; I've been wanting to style cropped pants again, but I seriously can't stand wearing pants in the heat.

Because of this hot weather, our weekends have been low-key, usually somewhere inside, with A/C to keep us cool.

We went to Trader Joe's and I was pleasantly surprised to find fresh lavender, so I bought myself a few bunches - I love lavender. As I'm writing this, I can smell it, coming from the bedroom - I put some in there to help us sleep better; the heat has definitely been impacting my sleep.

When going out these days, I find myself reaching for linen dresses more often than not. I spoke of the benefits of wearing linen here, so I fully recommend embracing the trend, if you haven't already.

This dress is from Target's new brand Universal Thread. Initially, when I looked at the pieces in these collections, I can't say I liked them that much. But give them a chance - some of the dresses are just adorable and actually nicer in person than in pictures.
