Casual trench coat
How does one dress for constant rainy and chilly weather? You pull out a trench coat of course!
Between us moving into a hotel and the cold, dressing up, or putting effort into my outfits has been a struggle. I have been living in a sweater, jeans, a scarf, and booties lately. Of course, this is also due to the limited closet space and clothes we have now.
I obviously did not plan my packing too well, since I ended up at the hotel with the clothes I wear for work, sweaters, and a few other random blouses, dresses, jeans and some basics.

I have been complaining a lot about the rainy season we've been experiencing here this year, along with the chilly weather. People come to San Diego for the sunshine and the warm climate. They even say that we pay for the weather here, and yet, we've been wearing winter coats and boots/booties for the longest time now.
I don't like wearing layers as they make me feel heavy and stiff - note to self: maybe we should consider moving to Florida - but I had to bundle up to stay warm. As I'm writing this, there's another rainstorm happening outside. This morning we woke up to sunshine so we had to run outside to enjoy it before the current rainstorm got here.
I've been wanting to wear this trench coat I have had for a while but didn't get a chance to before. It's not waterproof but it's great for light layering for spring weather.
And speaking of trench coats, every woman should have at least one in her closet. I have a more classic yet modern trench coat and this casual one. If you're looking for some cute, affordable options, check this, this, this beauty, the drapey, this faux-leather, or this satin one.
With my look, I wanted to keep things simple so I went with a basic white tee, jeans, a scarf, belt, and booties. It ended up not being enough layers so we ran back inside almost as soon as we got done taking these photos. Spring weather is definitely deceiving.
Any signs of spring where you are?
Until next time.
XOXO,
Em
