My haircare routine

hair_orig.jpg

Since I've put this post together, a major change occurred - I decided to cut my hair. Why? Well, because it's Spring. I crave for changes in Spring. Because my hair looked "tired" and took too much time to dry and style. Because the length (I usually keep it a little below my shoulders) was pulling any volume down, and what woman doesn't want volume in her hair?

No matter the change, my hair care routine has remained the same. And today I'm sharing my most-used hair products. I have to mention that this post is not sponsored, it truly speaks of products I use on a daily basis, from brands I really like. If you've been reading my blog, you must have noticed that I like being frugal, as in I like finding products that work and wouldn't break the bank, so the list presented here is very affordable but effective.
So let's get to it.

Shiny, healthy hair is important to women all over the world, all having their own practices or secrets that would make it so. The haircare industry has bloomed with products, all promising the best results. I, myself, have tried a multitude of shampoos, conditioners, masks, sprays hair oils. Many did not make the cut, but I'm sharing with you the ones that did.
Let's start by saying that I have oily hair, a little too thin for my taste, and very frizzy, so I am looking for products that would make it smooth, add volume but not add to the oiliness (is that a word?).

I have discovered maybe about two years ago the Hask brand, and it quickly became my favorite. Initially, I was only using their hair oil (see below), to detangle and smooth flyaway hair and I fell in love.
I was so happy to see that they began expanding their line, by adding shampoos and conditioners, and anything else you might need for your hair, all free of parabens, dyes, and other harmful things for your body and environment, not to mention that they are cruelty-free.
My absolute favorite collection is the Argan oil one (pictured above) - it smells amazing (like oranges) and leaves my hair shiny and nourished while keeping its natural volume. Did I make you want to try it yet?

However, I like switching shampoos/conditioners once in a while, and another natural brand I like is Renpure. I've tried their Argan Oil (yes, I'm obsessed with Argan Oil) that I loved, their Biotin &Collagen (verdict not out yet), and their Lavender Cleansing Conditioner, which works really well. I want to mention that you want to be careful with cleansing conditioners and not use them every day or on days you have styling products on - you might end up with an oily mess (personal experience). Used the right way though, you'll love them too.

No matter the shampoo and ingredients, I still end up with a tangled mess of a hair, after washing it (and I wash my hair every day). I try to stay away from chemical-full products, so natural hair oils were the way to go. The best I have found to be is by the same Hask company, and my favorites are the Argan, Bamboo and Macadamia ones (currently out of them all 😭). I have found that coconut oil anything does not work well for my hair - maybe because it is too thin, but if it works for you, you should try it. The key to these oils is using a small amount and avoiding the roots. It's a small vial, but it lasts long - about a month in my case.

Before I found the more natural hair care lines, I was using Suave and I still do, once in a while. I chose this anti-breakage serum and it's been working magic with the tangles in my hair. No to mention that it did reduce some of the hair loss and breakage caused by brushing.

I don't remember the last time I blow-dried my hair but when I do, I use this miracle mist, which is more like a cream, but I'm very happy with it, no matter the texture. It does whatever says it does, and that's why it's been on my list for a year now.

Did you really think I was done with Hask? Told you I am in love with it!
I love this spray, because it gets rid of frizz, and it makes my hair look thicker - and that is a strong "YES" in my book. And I love it in the summer. Why? Because it has mint which gives a cooling feeling on those hot days - MUCH NEEDED!

And finally, whenever I want my hair to stay in place (any given day, pretty much), I use hair spray.
These two are my favorite. I haven't tried their hold "power" in the rain, but they've been my friends in any other weather. Find them here and here.

Do you use any of these products or brands? Anything amazing you've tried that want to share with me?
Thanks for reading darlings. Have a great rest of your week!

XOXO,
Em
