Shopping in my closet

I seriously can not believe that we are in December already! This year has gone by crazy fast and everyone I talk to tells me the same thing.

I don't know about you, but around this time, I start reflecting back on the year that's passing.
Looking back, I feel like I have been in some sort of sleep-walking state this year, figuratively speaking. I've been going through the motions but incapable to focus. I simply could not keep up with the seasons, holidays and all this year's events. In spite of this, I have been very aware: aware of my feelings and desires, where I want to be and who I want to become.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying I was a zombie this year. In fact, I have been doing A LOT of reflecting and asking myself what my purpose might be. This bug I've been having has extended to my hubby as well, and we're already full-on planning for 2018. And yes I know that Christmas hasn't come yet.

Speaking of Christmas, thank God we already did our shopping and are done with the craziness that malls and shopping centers are becoming. I'd rather spend my time outdoors - the weather has been great so far so we've been trying to enjoy that as much as we can.

With every outing though, I face that same question, you know, the what-to-wear question.

This time I decided to "shop" my closet. I've been drawn to burgundy-everything lately - blame it on the season that's just starting to show here.

There's something about turtlenecks - you either love them or hate them but. Also, flared or wide-leg jeans take an outfit from boring to elegant or even classy, depending on the fabric and wash (go dark if you want to look elegant and with a lighter wash if trying to appear casual).

All the items I'm wearing here are old but if you want to recreate this look, I found similar wide-leg crop jeans here and here, turtleneck sweater here, here or here, flats here and here, similar bag here.

Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? If you need any help, I will be coming with a post about gifts I want to receive - the list is not the typical items you see all over. Stay tuned!

Until then,
XOXO,
Em
