A perfect holiday dress
And my [holiday] dress collection keeps growing…
In all honesty, I couldn’t resist it… A classic cut with a modern touch, this silhouette is my favorite, so of course, I had to get this dress as soon as I saw it.
This dress is a great choice for the holiday season since it comes in black and teal. As far as choosing a color, I still try to limit black in my closet, so I went with the teal one. I do, however, like it so much that I’m considering getting it in black as well. I’m still deliberating, especially as it’s on sale!
About the dress…
The fabric is on the heavier side, so it holds its shape. It has some stretch and is a bit noisy — if that bothers you, skip this dress. As far as sizing, overall, it runs true to size. However, it is tight in the chest so I sized up because of that. If you are small-chested, I’d recommend your usual size for a more cinched waist. Oh, did I mention it has pockets?
While I bought it with the holidays in mind, this is a versatile dress that can be styled in multiple ways and for various occasions.
For an elegant holiday look, I chose to wear it with a simple clutch, block heels, and pearl earrings. The clutch I’m wearing was an impulse purchase I made years ago, and to be perfectly honest, I have never worn it until now. I find it serendipitous that it matches this dress so well.
If you want to recreate the look, a similar clutch would be this one and this one. These are my sunglasses (love them!) — they come in a variety of colors, including dark green. Wear this jacket or this one for a warm layer, or this faux-fur tie-wait jacket.
The shoes I’m wearing are also a few years old, but there are several similar options available including these, these, these, and these. Of course, you can wear any other shoes of your choice.
