"Embracing the warm weather" outfit

It's warm here. Warm like we're in the middle of the summer. And, honestly, I'm not complaining too much. I don't like the cold and I don't like having to heat our apartment - yes, we need to do that even if we live in So Cal.

So today, I decided to stop fighting it and celebrate the long-lasting summer days we've been having here. Did I mention I'm not ready for fall, like, really not ready? October caught me off-guard for sure. I mean Halloween is just around the corner, Thanksgiving is not that far away... should I continue?

I was getting ready to go out to enjoy our day and I kept staring at my closet, trying to decide what I could wear that would look fall-ish. I stared for minutes, not being able to find a match to whatever I had in my head. I wanted to wear jeans, but knowing how warm it was outside, I said there was no way I would - I wanted to be comfortable. Wearing jeans on a warm day is not comfortable, not for me.
I kept being drawn to my dresses but, thinking of the skirts I've bought over the summer, and never worn, I chose the latter.

I bought this linen skirt (you should know I love anything linen and that linen is the perfect fabric for summer or any warm day), from Target, on sale and it's by Who What Wear (do you love them as much as I do?). I love its shape, movement, and length. Sadly, it's not available anymore, but I have found some similar linen skirts here, here, and here, or maybe you like this one?
I paired it with an old oversized striped shirt (or this, this, this and even this), my faithful espadrilles and done - problem solved, I was ready to enjoy the day in comfort.
