Castor oil for hair and eyelash growth
With the onset of a new year, I wanted to follow through with my self-care vow. I reevaluated some of my routines when I was reminded of this treatment I used to do. I stopped it a while ago for no particular reason other than being lazy/forgetting about it...
This treatment makes a serious difference, as in, my eyelashes are actually thicker! Keep reading for how I do it and what I use.

I have never heard of anyone not wanting beautiful hair and long, thick eyelashes or eyebrows (thick brows are still on-trend, right?).

Castor oil is the product I use to promote growth in my hair, lashes, and eyebrows; it’s a straightforward, relatively cheap, and safe solution. I recommend this oil because it’s high quality, and I’ve used it for years. *Please patch test before using to ensure there are no side effects or that you are allergic to it.
Here’s what I do:
CASTOR OIL FOR MY HAIR
On days I know I won’t be going anywhere, I use a cotton swab to apply or massage castor oil onto my scalp (you can do that at night if you have time to shower in the morning, but you’d have to protect your pillow).
Disclaimer: This pure castor oil is a bit thick. I usually shampoo my hair twice (shampoo, rinse, and repeat) to completely remove it.
If you don’t want to deal with the pure oil form for growing your hair, I wholeheartedly recommend this hair conditioner —it makes a difference for me, as I start seeing hair growth after only a few weeks of use. Full transparency: while it also works, I don’t particularly like the shampoo from the same line as it leaves my hair dry and lifeless. For that reason, I also use it only on days I’m staying home or have nothing planned. It might work differently on you, in case you’re curious to try it.
CASTOR OIL FOR MY LASHES AND EYEBROWS
Generally, at night (sometimes during the day as well), after completing my skincare routine, I apply a thin layer of castor oil to my lashes and eyebrows using a cotton swab (or a clean/new mascara wand), making sure I don’t use too much to get it into my eyes. I go to sleep (or go about my day if I’m doing it during the day) as normal, and, when it’s time to wash my face, I make sure I remove all the oil, especially from my lashes.
Apart from it being moisturizing, when I apply the castor oil consistently (every night), I notice more growth, along with my eyelashes and eyebrows growing faster and longer. The best part is that it makes them thicker and stronger, and you can tell the difference when you touch them. Or when applying mascara and noticing how much longer and fuller they look.
Because you need very little, your castor oil will last a long time.
Have you tried or will you be trying castor oil for growing your hair and eyelashes?
