San Diego: Mount Soledad
With the beginning of the new year, we decided to make drastic changes. Things are getting real around here, as they say. As I'm writing this, our current apartment that we are leaving at the end of this month (earlier than planned due to unprofessional stuff and lots of issues we've been having) is full of boxes and our belongings all over the floor, while we make tough decisions on what we're keeping and what we're giving up on. Purging feels good but it's also hard.
While we're making this move, we realize that things are aligning as they should, even if they're happening sooner than we thought.
For our last few months here in San Diego, we want to go back and visit the places we love, one by one so we can imprint them in our memory. There are many places we love in San Diego that we will miss greatly, and many of them involve amazing views like these and, of course, the ocean.
One of these places is Mount Soledad, which, over the years has had a lot of controversy because of the cross marking its peak.
But, for us, it's not the controversy that makes it an interesting place, but the history behind it and the 360 degrees views of San Diego, the Pacific ocean, the coastline, and even Mexico. I love the peacefulness, the ocean breeze and the quiet around this place... Oh, and how can I forget the drive - it makes me think of Italy's crazy windy uphill roads.
Outfit details: sweater (similar), jeans, scarf (similar) here and here, booties (similar) here, here, here and here, sunglasses here.
What you've been up to so far, this year?
Until next time.
XOXO,
Em
