You won't find any Photoshop here...

It seems like forever since I last posted anything style-related. With the end of a year and then beginning of a new one, I found myself focused on a million things, and fashion was not a priority.

I have taken a break from online (I have disabled my Instagram account for a few weeks - more on that later), and instead, used that time on personal development and motivation - it felt freeing. I've also been thinking of where I want to take this website and this brand I am trying to build. I said it and I remain true to my words of inspiring you to live a simpler life, strive for better in your looks, as well as body and mind.

Stress is ruling our lives and if we aren't constantly on the run (like everyone else appears to be), we can't help but feel like a failure. I've been telling myself that that's not how I want to live and I don't want to be like everyone else. It took me most of my life to understand that. I knew I was different in my thinking - I don't follow what's "cool" to follow, I don't do things just because I'm told so, I question and mostly, do what I want/think. In no way do I call myself a rebel - I simply like being different and I've embraced it. I know this doesn't make me popular and I'm OK with that.

I can’t help but notice these perfect photos and blogs/bloggers all across the internet. All are perfectly polished and picture the perfect life. They all make it look extremely easy to do what you love, travel all the time- like you don’t have to work hard to have it all. Is it really true?

Let’s be real here. Life is not perfect, not for ANYONE. We all have good days and bad days, our ups and downs. I get that we all want to show only the beautiful part and hide the sweat and tears it takes to get anywhere. I myself have to admit that I'm attracted to those perfectly-curated profiles, blogs, and Instagram pages, I see plenty of negativity all around me so why should I have to see it there as well, right?
But we need to keep in mind that these are real people, sharing information with REAL people. This "perfection" is what drives the misery and frustration in us and the comparison that our life is simply not as fun.

Is this really the message we bloggers want to relate? Because I don’t want to be part of it, if so. Yes, I will keep sharing beauty through my photos, as best I can- beauty that is not photo-shopped, but I will not stop speaking the truth. I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't take what you see on the internet at face-value.

I'm not perfect, in fact, I'm far from it, I don't have the perfect body, my photos aren't perfect and that is because they are REAL. Let's embrace and remember the fact that we are all simply humans. Don't strive for perfection, simply work a plan that's best for you - eat better, take care of yourself, be careful with who you let in your life and find what drives you.
