5 things that bring me joy this week
Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that serve as a reminder to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.
Yep, here I am running behind again on everything, as I just posted what should have been yesterday’s blog post, but guys, there’s a lot going on. In all honesty, it is my fault as I allowed myself to get distracted on Monday (when we also lost internet for more than half the day), so now I’m playing catch-up. But it’s been a pretty good week so far…
Let’s catch up with the things that bring me joy this week, shall we?
cleaning all my makeup brushes. What is it about doing certain things that just bring pure joy? Specifically, doing things that you don’t particularly enjoy doing, but that give you a sense of accomplishment and pride once you’ve finished them. Not quite sure what it is, but what I do know for a fact is that those tasks we put off and avoid for days turn out to be a source of positive feelings… What if we just did them as they “popped” up? Would we just feel better and more joyful overall?
the perfect weather we’ve been having this week. I know I “talk” about the weather a lot, but things depend on it, including our moods, so I try to keep up with it. After a summer-hot last week, we’re finally getting days that feel like fall, and yes, that brings joy! The rain we’ve been having for the last two days has been a source of pure joy and happiness for me, so I’m feeling good!
the most beautiful rainbow phenomenon I have witnessed (pictured above). As the last of today’s storm clouds quickly passed through, they revealed the most beautiful rainbow I have seen. It caught me by surprise, but I managed to grab my camera and capture parts of it before I paused and simply took it in. How lucky are we to experience such things?!
this double-sided belt. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago (maybe?) that I purchased this double-sided belt in white/navy, and I liked it so much that I ordered it in the brown/black version as well. Now that I received the second one, I can say that I really, really love them, so, they bring me joy! See them in this video.
dry-brushing my skin. I’m a big proponent of exfoliating as I believe that there is no better way to have soft, beautiful skin than through exfoliation. I have been using these exfoliating mitts for years now, but recently, I started dry-brushing and it’s totally blown my mind — it transforms the skin. I’m currently using this brush. Tip: I recommend doing it before your shower. Make sure your skin and the brush are dry, and that you do it in the tub/shower — it can get messy/dusty, haha. Thank me later! 😉
What’s bringing YOU joy this week?
xo,
Em
