You can check out the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here. It’s a collection of seemingly insignificant things that remind us to appreciate the little things—those small joys that make a difference in our daily lives.
Has it been a long week already? Over here, Monday and Tuesday seemed to go quickly, but today felt like time stopped in place. We did have fantastic weather, though, so that was a huge win.
We had a fun weekend, even if it left us feeling exhausted, so I’m low-key looking forward to the next one. The forecast, however, promises perfect temperatures, so you bet we’ll be out enjoying and being active. I guess we’ll get our rest when temperatures soar soon enough.
Until then, here are 5 [random] things bringing me joy this week:
being surrounded by blooming orchids. And I don’t mean purchased ones, I mean orchids that bloomed under my care (or more like, neglect). They bring me so much joy as more and more are opening up!
revisiting Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. It’s been a couple of years since we visited and found quite a different place (with great improvements, but also devastating traces of hurricane impacts). Nonetheless, it was a much-needed change of scenery and overall a lovely escape for a plant-lover like me. If you’re in the area and love plants, do visit!
this dress! While I obviously love it, I was a bit on the fence about it because it’s fairly similar to others I have. But after wearing it, I am so glad I got it. It’s great! And it has pockets! And, it’s flattering! A spring and summer dress I’ll wear and wear. And at only $35, yeah, it brings me joy! *Runs true to size.
disconnecting. I set this boundary for myself years ago: when we’re out, either exploring or enjoying a meal, a concert, or whatever else, the phone stays away. Sure, I may quickly snap a photo or a video, but apart from that, I am not on my phone, and I am definitely not checking apps and such. It allows me to enjoy the moment, and I’m happy I stuck with it.
a break in the miserable heat. Yeah, we were lucky enough to experience over 90-degree days already, like a whole week of them. I was not happy! Needless to say, the drop in temperatures yesterday and today, even if short-lived, had me cheering with joy. It really is about the little things…
What’s bringing YOU joy this week?
