Blue and white chinoiserie print dress
This blue and white chinoiserie print dress (also available here) caught my eye immediately.
We know I have a weakness for blue and white, and I’m always looking for beautiful pieces in this color combo, from home to clothing, accessories — like this silk scarf and this satin one, or a necklace like this one, and this one, the list goes on.
When I saw this dress, I’ll be honest, I tried to resist it, but we all know how that worked out in the end. And as it goes, I’m glad I added it to my closet. It’s a beautiful cotton dress, great for the spring and summer seasons, and only $35! Can’t beat that! Especially, as the quality is great.
I particularly like the cap sleeves, as I certainly have a lot of sleeveless dresses. The chinoiserie print is another bonus for me, even if the dress doesn’t have pockets. It’s a [much more affordable] version of this highly coveted (by me) Staud Wells dress.
I have a few dresses by this designer, and normally, they run true to size, but I found this dress to run big. As in, it’s not as fitted. Hence, if you’re in between sizes, I recommend going with your smaller one. I’m between 4-6 now, and size 4, which I’m wearing here, is still not fitted on me. Plus, the fabric does have some stretch to it.
For this reason, I decided to add a belt to it for a more cinched look. Sadly, my belt is unavailable currently, but I like this one as a similar option.
I finished the look with these kitten heel mules, my favorite oversized sunglasses I have in multiple colors, and a bag I’ve had for almost a decade.
I do, however, also like wearing the dress as-is (and I did) or with a straw belt for a summer look.
