A blue and ivory spring dress and more spring style finds
What can I say? I really love dresses with lots of volume!
I vowed to shop less this year, but I bought this dress the moment I saw it, and I adore it! Especially as I received several compliments while wearing it!
This is the perfect dress for spring and summer, as it feels and looks ethereal. If you haven’t decided yet on what to wear for Easter this year, may I suggest this? Unless you despise voluminous dresses; in that case, maybe skip it…
The material is a cotton voile — lightweight and sheer, so a slip is an absolute necessity. It’s a good thing it comes with the dress and has adjustable straps (though I decided to detach it as it made it difficult to adjust the straps). Also, the description calls this a maxi dress, however, this is definitely not maxi length. As far as fit, it runs true to size — I’m wearing size 4 here. Did I mention it has pockets?
For ways to wear it, I like the included tie waist, but I will also be swapping it with various belts, from [faux] leather (use code SF-EM-15 for 15% off) to straw, to change the overall look of the dress.
The shoes I’m wearing (local find) weren’t my first choice to pair with it, but given this was a day when we had some walking to do (including on wet grass) among crowds, I wanted to play it safe; I would have otherwise worn these Sarah Flint slingbacks or these block sandals but didn’t want to take the risk or possibly ruining them through wet grass.
