February had it all…

WHAT I/WE DID

Compared to January, February went by in a flash, and I doubt anyone’s complaining about it…

As the weather finally showed us the beautiful side of living in Florida, we took advantage as much as possible by escaping the city in favor of nature and [wild] parks. However, we also managed to venture into the city more than we normally do, to either stumble intentionally or unintentionally on various events and festivals. To sum it up, we tried to disconnect from the insanity every weekend by connecting with nature and art. We also visited Audubon’s Birds of America exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Saint Petersburg, which was quite impressive.

February BLOG POSTS ROUNDUP

Here’s a round of what I published on the blog this past month:

“5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series: Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4. Because joy is quintessential to our lives.

A linen-blend shirt dress perfect for spring. Truly — the title says it all!

Have you tried the seamed dress trend? Aka my very favorite “trend” in dresses.

OSEA Malibu bestsellers review. There’s a reason this brand is so beloved!

A dress for all occasions. I am totally in love with this dress — so much so that I bought it in all colors available (at a very, very good price! 😉)

Romantic details. Or, simple ways to make the top of this dress look better!

My best recent purchases in self-care, skincare, and haircare. Check this post out for some gems!

What I bought

Ouch, did I fail at my stance of shopping less so far this year! But I did get some great items at great prices!

This wide-trim sweater tank in both colors. I sized down. Heads up: they’re sheer, but they will be great worn under jackets and blazers.

This cropped poplin top to wear with skirts and high-waisted pants/denim. It runs large. It also wrinkles badly.

This tie-waist midi shirtdress. I’ve had this dress on my wishlist for a few months now, and I’m so happy I finally got it. I love it — it’s so chic! Runs big. If you’re in between sizes, go with the smaller one.

This puff-sleeved poplin shirt. Lightweight and runs TTS.

This blue and white poplin skirt. It runs true to size; however, keep in mind the fabric has zero stretch. If you’re in between sizes, I’d recommend going up.

This stunning dress. It was an immediate yes. Runs true to size, and it has pockets.

This linen-blend shirt dress which is another piece I had eyed for a long time.

MY MOST WORN ITEM(s) IN February

It has to be this brown bag I found locally — we’ve been inseparable. Here’s its [not so] funny story…

tan leather bag

I can’t stop wearing this bag!

A couple of months ago, I shared that I ordered a leather bag; well, I received the delivery notification with a picture of… another house (one with a lock on the door, so unoccupied). By the time we figured out where that was, my package was gone, gone, gone. I got my money back but was left without my bag until I serendipitously found this one “offline,” as my husband calls normal shopping these days. So, yeah…

Anyway, if you’re looking for reasonably priced leather tote bags, I recommend checking these out.

WHAT I READ

More like what I’m reading, given that The Count of Monte Cristo is over 1000 pages.

If you haven’t read this historical novel yet, I highly, highly recommend it — it’s a classic, and I still think it’s one of the best books of all time (ebook version here).

What we watched

You're Cordially Invited. Ugh, I wanted to love this movie, but the honest truth is that it was bad.

Back in Action. It's better than the previous but still not great. I’m not quite sure what they (or maybe we) are lacking in movies these days.

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy. We enjoyed this one and even found some moments pretty funny!

The Gorge. It’s not a bad movie, but I didn’t love it.

Based on a True Story (season one only, so far). It's a pretty okay show. We have to watch season two, though.

Gilmore Girls. The definition of a comfort show. Both my husband and I are enjoying watching this (though we’re on season three now, and certain episodes/events are driving me mad).

SONG OF THE MONTH

WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE ON THE INTERNET

I’m eyeing this new dress from J.Crew! I love the style!

This Hill House Home shirt dress also made it to my wishlist. And so did the Matilda dress!

I’m not normally a canvas bag kind of person, but I do like this one. And this one is just adorable! They’re great options for spring!

These Are the 26 Most Beautiful Libraries in the World for 2024. How incredible are these? It would be difficult leaving them, that’s for sure!
