Pastels for spring
I’ll be honest — I’m not a fan of pastel colors. However, because I loved the style of this dress, I decided to go out of my “comfort zone” and get it in light pink, and I can say this without any hesitation, I’m glad I did!
It feels good to depart from being predictable (or so I think). As I’m sure you’ve noticed, my go-to color is blue, in all its shades. And yep, despite it occupying a large part of my closet, I still prefer it.
Had this dress been available in blue, I would have gotten it in that color. As that’s not the case, light pink won over black (the other color option it’s available in), as I avoid wearing black in the spring and summer (it’s just too hot).
My favorite part about this dress is that it perfectly matches my Sarah Flint Natalie slings in petal calf, putting together a feminine look.
As far as this entire outfit, I thought it was going to be a cool day, so I grabbed a sweater to wear over my shoulders for warmth. The day turned out warmer, and so my sweater ended up in my bag. Speaking of, I’ve had this bag for over a decade now, totally forgotten and packed away. It’s gorgeous and spacious, but unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it’s going to make it. And that’s the reason I stopped buying vegan leather products — they just don’t last! Anyway…
I am in love with this dress — it’s a classic I’ll have in my closet for years to come. The quality is great, and it runs true to size. The fabric is cotton (with polyester lining), so it does wrinkle, but that’s the downside of natural materials; I’ve embraced it as the comfort level outweighs that. And I keep using this wrinkle release spray whenever I’m too lazy to steam or iron. Overall, this dress was a fantastic buy at only $50!
Spring is the ideal time to wear pastel colors — they’re as delicate as the season. Perhaps it’s spring that inspired me after all…
