5 things that bring me joy this week

this teacup…

You can check out the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here. It’s a collection of seemingly insignificant things that remind us to appreciate the little things—those small joys that make a difference in our daily lives.

How’s your week going? I have to admit I’ve been feeling anxious, and so, I’ve been strongly leaning on comforting things and seeking joy. And screaming along with this song

Here’s a list of some of the things that are helping me this week:

  • the totally impractical yet adorable teacup I stumbled upon (pictured), and couldn’t leave behind. I use (and need) a big mug for my coffee, yet when I saw this little teacup, I knew I had to have it. It brings me joy, even if it takes two sips to empty it—okay, maybe three… You get the idea. *I couldn’t find it online, but I stumbled upon this watermelon cuphow adorable is it?

  • gardening. Somehow, “I’m quickly going to water my plants” turned into two hours of watering, cleaning up dead leaves, planting seeds, and transplanting plants. I did not notice the time passing, and it felt liberating from current events and thoughts. Truly… When thoughts take over your head, the best thing you can do is garden, take a walk, or exercise. Try it! All to say that my gardening hours today truly brought me joy (and peace)!

  • baking a phyllo dough raspberry pastry. I usually bake from scratch, but as I found phyllo dough on sale (and as I wouldn’t even think to attempt making phyllo dough myself), I decided to try it. I had some frozen raspberries, which I turned into jam (I cooked them on the stove with sugar, lemon juice, and a tiny pinch of salt until the mixture started to thicken), and spread the jam between several layers of the dough with a few drops of coconut oil (I don’t use butter at all). Oh my, it turned out divine (and definitely more so cooled)! Endless joy for our tastebuds!

  • these hoop pearl earrings! They are lovely and bring me joy every time I wear them.

  • masking in 24K, haha. A little pampering never hurt anyone… These leave my skin hydrated and smooth, and overall, feel refreshing.

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
