Beauty products I must have at all times
I have to admit, as with my style, I try to keep a simple and fairly quick routine when it comes to beauty and personal care. I have been looking for products and items to help me achieve that for as long as I remember.
Over the years, I have found a few that I remained loyal to year after year; several of them have been mentioned here before so that should tell you all there is to know.
The best part about them is that they’re affordable, well, minus the cleansing brush (but so worth it for me!). Here’s my simple, unpretentious list of beauty products I must have at all times:
Facial cleansing brush
Unfortunately, the one I’ve been using for about 11 years now has been discontinued, or more like, the company went out of business during the pandemic. You can still find it on Amazon though I can’t vouch for the sellers or the product. That aside, I will honestly say that I’m going to be extremely sad when its final day comes — I love this cleansing brush and it’s truly been indispensable in my skincare routine as nothing cleans and exfoliates like it.
The only beef I have with this brush is that it literally takes over 10 hours (at least) to charge, however, it also lasts for an entire month while used every day for about 1-2 minutes.
If you’d like to try a cleansing brush, people seem to love this one that’s much less expensive. This one is another popular option though not as affordable.
Micellar water (also available here).
This is truly a product that’s indispensable in my beauty and skincare routine because of how effective it is. It easily removes makeup traces, dirt, impurities, and most importantly, sunscreen, especially mineral sunscreen, which we all know is quite a pain to get rid of. Plus, it doesn’t dry out my skin and it doesn’t have to be washed off. Though, in all transparency, I usually wash it off when I use it after cleansing my skin on the days I wear makeup — it does an amazing job at removing all my mascara and removing anything else that might be left behind. This vitamin C is my favorite micellar water to use, however, it was sold out so I got the rose water and glycerin instead. I like it just fine.
Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution.
In my opinion, this is one of the best products out there, period. This toning solution is a workhorse with plenty of uses. Do you want to exfoliate your skin? This will do that for you. Do you want glowy skin? This is your go-to. Do you have darker skin on your elbows or knees? This should brighten it. Blemishes? Yup, it can clear those, too. Stinky pits? Run a cotton pad with a few drops of this toning solution, and voila! No more stink! Read more about it in this post — in summary, this is still a product I need to have several years after discovering it.
Wet detangling hairbrush
I have been using this hairbrush for over a year until I brought my good old wet detangling hairbrush on an unexpected trip. Once I started using it again, I realized I liked it better and have been using it exclusively ever since. It detangles my hair like no other and that’s just what it needs.
Hask Argan Oil Repairing Shine Hair Oil
I have been talking about this hair oil countless times and even reviewed it in this post, and I truly credit it for my healthy, split-ends-free hair. I swear I cannot give up this extremely affordable and overall great hair oil!
Hask Keratin Protein 5-in-1 Leave-in Spray
This 5-in-1 leave-in spray truly makes a difference in my hair, even in Florida’s humidity. It gives it a bit of volume, but most importantly, it smoothes it out and tames flyaways. Writing this reminds me that I need to restock. Have you ever tried it?
