15 fun facts about me, 2021 edition
Check here for the 2019 edition, and my About page for more.
Life is definitely a journey of discovery, and I’ve found that, as we grow older, we can surprise ourselves - what used to be important or a priority once, isn’t anymore, and things we didn’t necessarily appreciate, or think of before, have now become the “center of our world”. It’s only natural - as we experience more, we change, and so do our lives.
I always enjoy reading fun facts about others, and I wanted to share another round of facts about me, as part of the “get to know me” series. Without further ado…
Both hubby and I don’t want a TV and have lived without one for a year now, and we don’t miss it. If we want to watch something, we do it on our phones or a laptop.
I love house chores, aka, cleaning, doing laundry, cooking, and so on (though I have times when I hate them, of course). The only house chores I truly dislike are ironing and putting laundry away, and I force myself not to delay them as that makes me feel unorganized.
I actually enjoy grocery shopping, and shopping for cleaning supplies or other household essentials brings me joy - really!
I love pottery, and I have a weakness for clay and ceramic pieces.
I love anything Mediterranean - architecture, landscape, climate, food… and olives, haha. My secret dream is to live somewhere near the Mediterranean someday, at least partially.
I don’t enjoy alcohol, nor drink it, and the same applies to my husband. We may have a drink on our birthdays and New Year’s Eve, but in recent years we’ve skipped the alcohol more often than not. And no, religion has nothing to do with it.
I’m 100% team “skincare is better than makeup”.
I’ve mentioned that before, but I wash my hair every single day as I can’t imagine going to bed without “getting the day off me”.
Dark spaces depress me.
I strongly dislike gray interiors.
I’m an ambivert, though I’m leaning more towards introvert.
I prefer savory foods rather than sweet ones, though I bake something sweet almost every week.
English is not the only language I speak.
I value honesty and can be a pretty direct person.
Some of you know this, and it’s very controversial of me to say it, even in 2021, but I don’t want kids, and I’m not apologetic about it. It was one of the very first things hubby and I discussed before we even got together, because being on the same page was extremely important to us. 10 years later, we’re only more convinced it’s the right choice for us.
Do you relate to any of these? Which one is the most surprising?
