Dalia MacPhee tile print dress
I shared a few weeks ago that I bought this pleated dress (also available here) almost the minute I saw it. I have been dreaming of a dress in this print for years — basically, ever since seeing the Dolce & Gabbana ones with a similar look. As those are way over my budget, I kept on dreaming until I stumbled upon this dress, which is much more affordable, and just as beautiful. It’s by Dalia Macphee, a designer I like for their feminine and unique pieces, as well as lively prints.
This is not a dress I can wear every day, but it is one I will cherish, and wear whenever I want to feel special. And you can bet it will be coming with me to a lot of places because it’s just a happy dress.
Its tile print and the beautiful flowers bring me joy and remind me of Portugal, Spain, and Italy, some of my favorite places on Earth, even if I haven’t visited the first two just yet.
This self-tie straps dress is perfect for [almost] any occasion. It’s also comfortable and lightweight, and not see-through even if it has a somewhat thin lining. I find it to be true to size, and it has some stretch to it. Note that the fabric makes a bit of a “squish” noise (think of the sound certain gowns would make), which could be heard in a quiet environment. However, that doesn’t bother me at all as it is not overpowering by any means. Really, the only downside for me is the fact that it doesn’t have pockets, but, obviously, that was not a deal-breaker. The print alone made up for that, and the fit makes it a classic and timeless dress in my book.
As I was prepping the dress for washing, I saw its tag that also included this quote “On the other side of your greatest fears, lies your greatest life. May this dress remind you just how powerful you are”.
What a beautiful gesture, right? It moved me. I had to cut this quote and keep it in a place I can see often, so I am reminded of it, and its meaning. That made the dress even more special for me, and I will remember that every time I wear it.
Some of the sizes are selling fast, so if you love this dress as much as I do, I’d snag it before it’s gone.
