Looking for a classic but fun little bag? Try this one!
In a past blog post, I mentioned that I was looking for a red bag. But not just a regular red bag — I wanted something that would stand out beyond its color. And I wanted it to be made of leather — I am over having to throw away “vegan leather” bags because they fall apart after a year or so when the “leather” starts peeling. Note* I began taking the same approach with shoes and accessories (like belts).
I looked for months, but I wasn’t finding what I had in mind — not style and price-wise. So I went looking where I don’t usually look for fashion items. For the heck of it…
I searched on Amazon. Of course, the search results brought on a variety of products, with most of them being not something I would consider. But one bag led to another and… I found it…
I might have mentioned that I have a weakness for embossed leather — because of its look and durability. That was the first thing (other than the color) that drew me to it. The others, of course, were the buckle, which I think is quite beautiful and unique (especially the little bee detail with the green eyes), and the price, of course. The description says it’s made of [split] leather, but since I’m not an expert, I can’t quite comment on that — time will tell.
That being said, I loved the style of this bag so I decided to buy it.
It came quickly, packed with care, in its own dustbag, and with a detachable crossbody strap. The bag is well-made and looks high-end for a fraction of the price. The leather is rigid, and the bag holds its shape without a problem. And as you can tell from the photos, it stands on its own; I was confident that it wasn’t going to fall in the water, haha.
This is a small bag (9.06 x 3.74 x 6.7 inches), one that you’d take out with only the essentials in it: your phone, keys, card holder or small wallet, sunglasses, small hand sanitizer, and a lipstick or makeup of choice. The interior and exterior pockets are pretty tight so you won’t be able to place much in there, but they definitely hold personal items. That’s about it — I, for one, don’t need to carry more.
The bag comes in red, a beautiful green, and black, though the black seems to be sold out at the moment. But if you’re looking for a small, cute yet classic-style bag, I recommend it — the price can’t be beat!
I considered getting it in the other colors, but I held off… Do I need the exact bag in several colors, or do I try other styles in the colors I want? I’m leaning towards the latter. What would you do?
I hope you love this bag as much as I do!
