5 things that bring me joy this week

Check the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here, a collection of seemingly insignificant things that serve as a reminder to appreciate the little things — those small joys that make a difference in our day-to-day.

About my outfit: the caftan dress is old from H&M (bought in 2018!); shoes are one of those random in-store finds that I can’t find online; sunglasses are available here (I have them in Milky Blue); my bag is available here in a mustard color — I’ve worn it a lot without any issues so I don’t particularly agree with the reviews.

Last week we got a taste of fall weather and it got me excited for the comfortable season, as I call it, before, no doubt, some cold will ensue. I even bought a few really cute candles that I can’t wait to burn once we are able to turn off the ceiling fans everywhere — safety and comfort (aka, ceiling fans on) first!

We even had to bundle up at night and got to spend an entire day out exploring because the weather was so nice! Ah, the best weather ever will soon be here and I can’t wait to enjoy it! Can you feel my excitement?

Here are the 5 things that bring me joy this week:

  • the old movies we’ve been watching (and rewatching) lately — don’t worry, a list of what we’ve seen so far is coming to the blog this Friday. Be it the nostalgia, or the simple fact that these movies are good, they’ve been bringing me so much joy. It’s all I want to watch right now!

  • spending time in nature. I don’t call myself outdoorsy by any means — I mean, just look at my hiking outfit from the weekend! But I do love nature and spending time there, even if the wildlife terrifies me. That aside, there’s no other place that recharges and inspires me like nature and the ocean do! It is why I seek them over anything else.

  • these sunglasses I just got. They’re certainly oversized, but they’re so cute and the colors bring me joy. They come in lots of colors and even packs of two for under $25!

  • the papaya ripening on our counter right now. I love papaya now, but that wasn’t the case during my first encounter with it many years ago. Funny how we and our tastes (literally) change over time. Anyway, the thought of enjoying this fruit any day now sure brings me a lot of joy.

  • this oversized boucle blazer I’ve featured in my fall wish list blog post. And the fact that brings me the most joy is that I got it on sale! Can’t wait to receive it.

What’s bringing YOU joy this week?

xo,

Em
