5 things that bring me joy this week
You can check out the entire “5 things that bring me joy this week” weekly series here. It's a collection of seemingly insignificant things that remind us to appreciate the little things—those small joys that make a difference in our daily lives.
Today’s post is about gratitude and joy. As you may know, hurricane Milton is on its way to us… The lives of so many could be changed forever in a few hours, as we truly don’t know what it may bring. All I know is that we’re hoping for minimal impact and damage for everyone.
With that said, here’s the amalgam of thoughts on my mind this week; things I’m grateful for, and things that bring joy:
having the time to prepare. Luckily, we’ve had plenty of notice to take the necessary precautions and preparations as best we can. It’s truly a nerve-racking time and situation. Needless to say, we’re exhausted physically, but especially mentally.
communities, businesses, and people coming together. Seeing this brings joy in times of grief. May we remember that above all, we’re all humans and love and compassion is all around us. What else would make a human put aside their own needs to come to the help of others?
healthy-ish distractions. Be it TV shows or movies, books, pets, etc., good kinds of distractions are crucial at this time when our minds are in overdrive and full of anxiety. Watching one of our favorite shows (this list needs updating) sure made us forget a bit about what’s really happening.
multiple devices charging station (on sale now). It’s an absolute necessity with impending power disruptions and beyond.
not going through it alone. Couple/married life sure has its ups and downs, but in times like these, it’s nice to have someone to lean on (and them leaning on you).
What’s bringing YOU joy this week? What are you grateful for?
xo,
Em
