Everyday maxi dress
I can definitely tell there’s a shifting trend these days towards spring fashion, and from what I see, you guys are looking for dresses, particularly, maxi dresses. Luckily, they are my “specialty”, ha-ha, and if you’re looking for them, you’ve come to the right place. Truly, I live in dresses pretty much year-round, with a 99.99% chance of it occurring during the warm season 😉. It’s the only thing I feel somewhat comfortable in on those sweltering hot days here in Florida. I say somewhat because one can’t truly be comfortable in 90+ temperatures and humidity levels — it’s just the way of life here come spring and summer.
I shared that I recently purchased this dress, and to get free shipping with code SHIP89, I added the one I’m wearing in these photos to the cart as well (on sale now here!). I’ve been eyeing it for an everyday dress to throw on and go about my day because that’s just my style — effortless. I made the purchase on Friday evening, and the next Wednesday, the dresses were in my hands, so they ship fast!
This dress is darker than my usual go-to colors, which makes it perfect for the days when you might want to have some sun on you. I usually avoid anything darker in the summer, particularly for that reason — Florida’s sun is no joke, and I don’t need my clothes to “attract” it even more (light colors reflect the sun away while darker ones “pull” it). However, until then, (and on cloudy days), I will be wearing this a lot (actually, I’ve already worn it several times). Update: since I aim to give honest feedback, I’ll add that after wearing this dress many more times, I noticed that the fabric pilled in spots (where my bag rubbed against it, for example), however, this fabric shaver took care of it.
The dress has a cottagecore look, or one can even say, “pilgrimy”, though I don’t mind this style. I see it going strong this year as well, and I am here for it!
I love that it has an accentuated smocked waist, which makes it very comfortable, and the puff sleeves make it more fun. I find it true to size, comfortable, flowy, and pretty breathable though the fabric has some weight to it. On my 5’5”, it hits almost to the ground, so it’s a true maxi dress. The fabric is a texturized crepe, and it is not see-through at all. While it has a tie-neck, I chose not to tie it.
This dress style comes in a myriad of colorways, as you can see from the ones linked below, so you can easily find one that you like. I love the yellow gingham one. Note: Some reviews say that this yellow gingham dress is see-through. I always wear a half-slip like this or this underneath if I find dresses to be see-through. Hope this helps.

Em
