Life lately: what we've been watching, etc.
This past week I have been in a true writing rut… I barely got hit by a last-minute bout of inspiration for Tuesday’s post, and for today, well, my mind just refused to come up with ideas… So I’m just letting it flow…
However, creatively speaking, I have been touched by the photography gods this week. Them and a few fresh flower bouquets, and this new dress I bought that I just couldn’t shut up about on my Instagram… Can you blame me though? It’s so stunning and in a print, I’ve long dreamed about that reminds me of the Amalfi Coast, and the insanely expensive Dolce & Gabbana tile print dresses. I’ve been pinning them like crazy on my Pinterest for years, so when I saw the much more affordable version, I just couldn’t help myself.
I guess you can say it inspired me because it served as background for these tulips I photographed about a hundred times — that and the sunshine coming through our windows after the too many dark and cold days we’ve had recently…
Speaking of dresses, I did purchase this dress too, which will be perfect for any season. I found both to be true to size if you’re interested in them.
In other news, I’m not sure where the week has gone. Though, in its rush, I was reminded once again how much I love taking photos, no, not of myself.
Photography is truly an art, and I enjoy the focus, as well as the relaxation it brings… After all, the subject is your only attention, and that unequivocally removes everything else from the mind. It’s a great feeling that only intensifies when you see the results (and like them, of course). That realization and activity have been a highlight for me this week, especially as in the process, I’ve also found a new favorite flower — scabiosa (the pink ones).
With photography, I still have a lot to learn, but here are some of the results:
As far as what we’ve been watching lately, we got caught up on HGTV’s Love It or List It — we take it as entertainment and design inspiration and don’t get into their legal issues. Once we watched all the episodes, we discovered Tough Love With Hilary Farr, and really enjoyed it — I’m still thinking of that incredible barn house from episode 1, and that blue and white kitchen in episode 6, I believe. Stunners!
And last night, we started watching Space Force, and so far, we find it pretty entertaining, in case you haven’t seen it yet.
That’s about it over here. Wishing you all an amazing weekend!
xoxo,
Em
