An effortless spring and summer look

Not that this look wouldn’t be great for fall ( and winters in Florida) — just add a blazer, a trench coat, or a lightweight coat, swap the shoes, and you’re good to go. But let’s back up…

Stripes are and will remain timeless, so when I saw this striped boatneck sweater tank, I knew I had to have it. Though I honestly thought it would be something I’ll wear several months from now, aka, when the temperatures go down. And I was pleasantly surprised.

This sweater tank feels so airy and light that I almost forgot I was wearing it — yes, even in Florida’s heat. Plus, this neckline is flattering on just about anyone, which makes me declare it a must-have for the seasons ahead.

As far as sizing — it’s accurate, as in, it runs true to size. However, I find that it has a bit of an oversized fit.

Clearly, I loved it so much that I decided to get it in this “snow day” color as well. This time, I decided to go down one size for a more fitted look. So… I got the striped boatneck top in size “small” and the one in solid color in “extra small”.

I’ve also been eyeing this poplin midi skirt for months. It looked nice and breezy and had pockets, something that’s becoming an increasingly deciding factor for me when making clothing purchases.

Based on reviews, I went up one size in this skirt and got it in size 6. It’s perfect. Note that it’s unlined; if you’re eyeing it in white, I caution you that it’s see-through and offer my solutions to “fix” that.

For their first time, I decided on a minimalistic look, however, I plan on also adding a belt the next time I wear it. Of course, I will be wearing these pieces with other items as well because they’re that versatile.
