Personal and beauty care gifts for your loved ones
I decided to dedicate this week’s blog posts to gift ideas, mainly because I am personally excited about the items shared (especially about the first one). Without further ado, let’s jump into it.
IPL Permanent Hair Removal for both women and men (though, not for use on their beards). It’s an investment, but so far for me, this has been worth every single penny. 12 is the magic number, but in my case, after only 6 [consistent] weekly uses, there is a dramatic change in hair growth, and I can honestly say that this device has changed my life. If you truly want to give your loved one a gift that will impact their life, this is it. Do make sure that they are “candidates” that would truly benefit from this gift by following the “skin tone and body hair type chart” recommendations in the product description. Also, let them know that consistency is truly the key to great results with this device.
Silk and/or satin pillowcase. I’m picky about my sheets, though, I don’t really care about the thread count - I run hot, and normally, the higher the thread, the hotter I feel. My main requirement is that my sheets are made of natural fabric like cotton (we’ve been using these for the last 2+ years). However, cotton is harsh for a pillowcase, as it can damage, and even break the hair (I’m sure I’m not the only one to wake up with broken hair strands on my pillow), and leave creases on your face, which, in time, can lead to wrinkles. Therefore, years ago, we’ve switched to silk, and satin pillowcases, and I can firmly say that it’s made a big difference.
To ensure longevity wash after wash, I recommend placing them in mesh laundry bags; I use them for all sorts of delicate items. Help your loved one in their beauty routine by gifting them silk, or at the very least, satin pillowcases, and watch them thank you later.
Bathtub caddy. If they love to take baths, help them make the time more relaxing by gifting them a bathtub caddy like this one or this one. For a spa-like experience, add these bath salts and, and of course, some Christmas or relaxing candles to the gift, and support a small, Black-owned business in the process.
Face masks that have a cult-like following - they’re that good. I’m talking about this Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Mask, this Superclay Purify + Clear Power Mask with Niacinamide, this Vinosource-Hydra Moisturizing Mask, this overnight Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask with Vitamin C, and this Watermelon Glow Hyaluronic Clay Pore-Tight Facial Mask.
Hair masques/products. Beauty and care are not complete without a set of good hair care products. This Honey Infused Haircare Set, this Detox + Repair Hair Value Set, this Healthy Hair Care Wonders Set, and this Joy to Strong Hair - Restore Damaged Hair Treatment Kit are well-loved and would make great gifts.
Hair Towel Wrap. It’s no secret that hair dryers and other hot tools can cause damage to one’s hair. For that reason, I have stopped using (or even owning) a hairdryer years ago, and now, use a hair towel wrap instead to dry my hair. Regular towels can still damage the hair, which is why a wrap is more suitable.
Until next time.
